This 6.5-mile widening and pavement project on Interstate 71 south featured the addition of a third lane and installation of ODOT 880 seven-year warranty pavement.

In the construction of the third lane, Kokosing performed 321,000 cubic yards (CY) of excavation and embankment work, installed 268,000 linear feet of underdrain and placed 160,000 tons of 304 aggregate base. The paving portion of the $46-million project included 300,000 square yards of pavement planing, 296,000 tons of asphalt base, 41,000 tons of intermediate asphalt, 36,000 tons of asphalt surface and 373,000 tons of warranty pavement.
