Kokosing partnered with EL Robinson Engineering to perform both our first project for the West Virginia Department of Transportation, as well as WVDOT’s first Design-Build Project.  Both the design and construction of this 6.5 mile long new 4-lane highway drew on our company strengths.  Being Design/Build, we were able to tailor the project features to ensure that Kokosing would be as competitive as possible, as well as provide the best final product for the owner.

Key features of this project included excavating over 7.5 million cubic yards of dirt and rock, paving 300,000 square yards of 10.75 inch concrete pavement, and constructing four single-span bridges. 

Kokosing ensured delivery of the project on an aggressive 18-month fast track schedule by utilizing multiple crews and double shifting many of the earthwork and paving operations.
