The Columbus Crew Soccer Stadium
Kokosing constructed the United States’ first soccer-specific stadium – a 22,500-seat venue for Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew. The stadium’s design utilizes split-face concrete block, horizontal steel and glass, and features a unique four-corner tilted lighting system. The $25-million stadium is user-friendly with concessions and restrooms located on each corner of the facility, 30 open-air luxury boxes, a south-end concert stage and a 1,500-person party plaza.
Kokosing, which served as the project’s general contractor, utilized its diverse construction and management skills and experience to complete the nine-month project for the team’s inaugural game.
