Westerly Outfall
In the $20.87-million reconstruction of Cleveland’s Westerly Outfall facility, Durocher Marine constructed a 30-foot-by-30-foot-by-40-foot-deep outfall drop structure; five 30-foot-diameter steel-sheet pile cells built in Lake Erie’s open water, sub-aqueous installation of more than 4,750 feet of 108-inch-diameter pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipe; a 20,000-ton breakwater reconstruction; and an 800-foot-long sheeted trench.
The project also required the demolition of a heavily reinforced concrete chlorine contact building and a breakwater barrier.
