Bliss Run Trunk Sewer Phases 1, 2, & 3
In completing this three-phase, $20.2-million project on the east side of Columbus, Kokosing excavated and installed box culverts and large-diameter pipe and reconstructed city streets.
For the storm sewer portion of the City of Columbus, Ohio project, Kokosing installed 6,700 feet of 8-foot-by-12-foot precast concrete box culvert; 4,400 feet of 84- and 108-inch-diameter mainline reinforced concrete pipe (RCP); 6,000 feet of 12-inch to 66-inch-diameter branch line RCP; and a 362-foot, 120-inch diameter tunnel underneath Main Street. The project’s street reconstruction required Kokosing to install 31,700 square yards of concrete base/asphalt surface pavement and 21,300 feet of concrete curb and gutter.
Because of the area’s dense population, Kokosing worked closely with the City and residents to continue a high quality of life by maintaining water and gas services and travel access during the storm sewer’s improvements and street restructuring.
