Marysville Water Reclamation Facility
One of the largest single-contract wastewater treatment plants built by Kokosing, the $64-million new facility can effectively treat 8-million gallons of wastewater per day for this growing central Ohio area.
Construction included 219,000 cubic yards (CY) of earthwork; 29,500 CY of cast-in-place concrete, 2,300 tons of reinforcing steel and 46,000 linear feet – or 8.7 miles – of process piping ranging from 1 to 60 inches in diameter.
Incorporated into the facility’s design and technology is influent screening, diffused air aeration, final settling, tertiary filtration, ultraviolet disinfection, post aeration, belt thickening and centrifuge sludge dewatering systems. Because of its location, much care was also put into the facility’s exterior design. This highly visible reclamation facility features attractive architecture and extensive landscaping, which includes mounding, ponds and water features, which integrate the process plant with its surroundings.
