Kokosing was awarded this project to upgrade aging lime and coagulant sludge handling facilities and significant portions of the plant electrical system at this important Columbus, Ohio drinking water facility. The project includes the construction of a new Lime Sludge Control House, Coagulation Sludge Control House and Sludge Pump Station to control, meter and remove sludge from the plant to onsite and offsite storage and disposal location. Related work includes buried process piping, site paving, major electrical upgrades, renovations/additions to existing plant process areas, installation of new off-site flow metering and air release structures along the sludge force main and demolition of the existing sludge pump station. Careful planning and coordination with the plant's operational personnel is required to minimize disruptions to the critical water supply.
