HEAVY INDUSTRIAL
The typical project for Kokosing’s Heavy Industrial Division is that it is atypical –and we thrive on that variety.
Our skills in the Heavy Industrial Division are in the areas of structural steel and concrete. How we use those skills is up to the customer and the type of quality project they desire. Kokosing Construction has long been known for our expertise in constructing water and wastewater treatment plants – and it remains 70 percent of our work. However, word of our work with municipalities and the private sector has spread, and so have the areas in which we’re working today.
Our capabilities and reputation for quality have extended to about any type of project imaginable – from professional and collegiate sports stadium construction and renovation; to material handling systems for power plants; to construction of cancer research facilities, ethanol plants and major lock systems along the Ohio River.
Kokosing’s Heavy Industrial Division has grown from four people doing $15-$17 million of construction a year to one that today boasts 80-90 salaried positions, 900 laborers and is performing $200 million of work annually.
While our expertise is widening, one thing remains true: We believe in self-performing the project. Self-performing is ingrained in our philosophy of sitting across the table from the project owner and being the partner actually building the project – not a person who calls for someone else to do the work. We believe self-performing the work removes one layer of confusion and one layer of cost.
