The Internship/Co-op Program at Kokosing Construction Company is designed to provide you with practical construction experience that will supplement your academic training. This work experience will allow you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of the construction industry through hands-on project involvement.

As an intern/co-op you will not be a "trainee" with Kokosing Construction Company. From the first day on the job you will find specific projects and responsibilities assigned to you. Daily activities will enable you to experience construction processes and management methods first hand. Supervisors and project staff will structure your work efforts to help you learn about construction management methods while you contribute directly to the completion of a quality project.

Kokosing accepts the responsibility to provide work assignments with increasing challenge and responsibility based on your abilities and education. The assignments are expected to be in a variety of situations that allow you to develop technically, broaden your practical background, and explore your own interests.

Intern and co-op opportunities are available within Kokosing Construction Company's five different construction divisions (Highway, Building, Treatment Plant, Utility, and Asphalt). Please note: Kokosing plans for success. The responsibilities and assignments assigned are based on your education, experience, interests, and needs of the company.

The first and second quarters as an intern/co-op with Kokosing Construction Company you will be assigned to work with a union construction crew in a field situation. This field experience will provide you with a hands-on, fundamental approach to the construction industry. During later intern/co-op quarters you will be assigned as an assistant in one of the following areas: Project Management and Engineering, Project Supervision, and Estimation. Kokosing Construction Company believes that this experience is essential to the understanding of how the organization operates.

Program Acceptance

To be considered for our internship program, students should have completed at least one year of college. If you are a student or a school interested in our co-op/internship program, we would like to hear from you.
