  Kokosing Materials, Inc. has been in the asphalt production business for twenty years.  The company, founded in 1980 with one asphalt plant, has grown over time through the gradual acquisition of asphalt companies and the purchase of plants.

1980  -- KMI purchases Fredericktown Sand & Gravel (our first plant)

1982  -- First portable plant purchased and set-up in Mansfield, OH

1983  -- Purchased second portable plant "Buckeye"

1987  -- Purchased assets of Griffith Paving and set-up Sheffield plant

1988  -- Purchased third portable plant "Hawkeye"

1989  -- Sold Fredericktown Sand & Gravel to Olen, maintained plant

1990  -- Acquired portable plant "Lonestar" from Texas Division

1991  -- Purchased Newark Asphalt Paving & set-up Newark plant

1992  -- Constructed largest plant in Ohio, the Columbus Asphalt Plant

1995  -- First season that over 1 million tons of asphalt was produced

1996  -- Purchased portable plant "Wolfpack"

1998  -- Constructed a 5 tank Liquid A/C Terminal in Wheelersburg, OH

1999  -- Purchased land in Westerville, OH for plant site

2000  -- Purchased portable plant "Volunteer"

2000  -- Produced in excess of 2 million tons of asphalt in one season

2001  -- Constructed a 4 tank Liquid A/C Terminal in Mansfield, OH
