When required by a customer, the Quality Control department will develop a custom mix design to suit the needs of a specific job. The Kokosing Materials, Inc. Quality Control department is made up of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Level 2 and Level 3 certified personnel. The Asphalt Binder and Asphalt Mixture (Level 3) laboratory in Mansfield is also ODOT approved. A second Asphalt Mixture (Level 3) testing laboratory is located in Garfield Heights, OH. Each of the KMI asphalt plants has an on-site ODOT approved Level 2 testing laboratory. Binder testing technicians are also certified under The Asphalt Institute National Binder Technician Certification Program – Certifiction #’s: AI79.
