This transformative project widened nine miles of I-64, added express lanes, and constructed a new 1.2-mile fixed-span bridge over the Elizabeth River. In addition to the Virginia award, the company received the following safety recognition in 2025: At the Maryland Transportation Builders and Materials Association’s 12th Annual Safety Awards Banquet in May, Kokosing Construction superintendents and foremen were honored with the MTBMA Committed to Safety Award. Also in May, McGraw Kokosing received the Safety Excellence Award from the National Electrical Contractors Association. In July, Kokosing was recognized with the The Association of Union Contractors Thomas J. Reynolds Safety Award and the Mechanical Contractors Association of America Safety Certificate.
