Kokosing JV Bridge Project in Maryland Receives ENR Recognition

By

The Kokosing McLean JV is proud to share that the Eastbound Bay Bridge Deck Replacement, Phase 1 project has received an Award of Merit in the Highway/Bridge category of the Engineering News-Record (ENR) MidAtlantic Regional Best Projects Awards.

This project is part of Maryland Transportation Authority’s (MDTA) long-term maintenance plan for the 71-year-old bridge. Phase 1 replaced the Bay Bridge deck east of the suspension span in sections without 24/7 lane closures and added 4-ft. of width to the bridge.

The Kokosing McLean JV and MDTA agreed to extend the scope of this project to include steel truss strengthening on the west side of the main span and to replace the barrier in the main span. The extended scope is ongoing into spring of 2027.
