From Indiana to the Atlantic Ocean, Kokosing Construction is building, repairing and enhancing bridges for automobiles and pedestrians. At present, Kokosing has bridge projects in five states in the nation’s northeastern quadrant, showcasing its expertise in demolition, construction and engineering. These projects include:

  • 16 Tech Bridge and Roadway: Kokosing has completed this signature bridge and accompanying new roadway in downtown Indianapolis. The 16 Tech Bridge is now outfitted with a variety of ornamental features, including a buff-wash finish on the bridge deck sidewalks, stainless steel cable rails and LED lights for nighttime illumination.
  • Chesapeake Bay Bridge: Through a joint venture project with McLean Contracting, Kokosing has completed deck replacement and steel work for the 4.3-mile bridge in Annapolis. Kokosing and McLean are now focused on strengthening the steel truss on the west side of the main span and replacing the barrier in the main span, which is anticipated to be complete in 2027.
  • Wallops Island Causeway Bridge: Kokosing is leading the replacement of the bridge that provides sole vehicular access to NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia’s Accomack County off the Atlantic coast. The new 1,590-foot-long concrete structure is being constructed on new foundations north of the existing bridge.
  • Canoe Creek: Kokosing is removing and replacing eastbound and westbound structures over Canoe Creek and Tippecanoe Road along I-80 in Pennsylvania’s Clarion County. This project is part of PennDOT’s Major Bridge P3 Project, involving six major bridge replacements across the state.
  • S. 40 Arch Bridge: Kokosing is ensuring the long-term structural integrity of the historic bridge across Conococheague Creek in Hagerstown, MD, while preserving its unique aesthetics. The project involves full demolition and replacement of the bridge’s superstructure, while the original concrete arches and piers are being meticulously repaired and preserved.
  • Glass City Riverwalk: This high-profile project in downtown Toledo is scheduled for its grand opening this Memorial Day. In addition to traditional heavy highway operations, Kokosing has constructed unique park elements such as pedestrian boardwalks, transient docks, glass-embedded concrete pavement and custom playground equipment.
