Industrial Maintenance BOF MACT EMISSIONS SYSTEM DUCTWORK INSTALLATION

This project involved the installation of eighty-three pieces of large diameter ductwork, erection of new modular computer room, and a modular control building for a new emission system while the basic oxygen furnace shop was in full operation.

The ductwork included the following:

  • three vertical uptake duct routes consisting of thirty-three pieces
  • twenty-two pieces of charge aisle duct
  • twenty-eight pieces of tap side duct

The computer room was constructed of 5 pre-fabricated modules. The new control building was installed over the Hot Metal Car Track using two prefabricated modules on an elevated structural platform.  Installation of both buildings included all foundation and support steel as well as the power and fiber optic cables. The Client met EPA requirements with the upgraded emissions system. The Plant maintained full operations while McGraw Kokosing completed the project in under seven months.
