This Progressive Design Build project will design and reconstruct approximately 5 miles of I-71/I-75 in Kentucky, 1 mile of I-75 in Ohio, construct a new companion bridge over the Ohio River just to the west of the existing Brent Spence Bridge, and rehabilitate the existing Brent Spence Bridge.

PROJECT DETAILS

The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project is a collaboration between the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. This project is being delivered as a progressive design build, leveraging the design and construction expertise of our team with the owners. This project will reconstruct I-71/I-75 for 5 miles in Kentucky, will construct a new companion bridge over the Ohio River, will rehabilitate the existing Brent Spence Bridge, and will replace the approach ramps and bridges through the Cincinnati downtown interchange, including an additional mile of roadway replacement of I-75 in Ohio. The project is expected to be in the design phase throughout 2023 and 2024, with construction work from 2024 through 2030. This mega-project is an excellent opportunity to join Kokosing for a long term project in the Cincinnati area. With a project of this size, there are ample options for career advancement, learning, and experience. This project will be in the design phase through 2023 and most of 2024, and will be largely staffed by Project Managers, Engineers, Estimators, and Project Controls Specialists during this time. As the project progresses to later 2024 and into 2025, continuing on through 2030, the needs will increase for Project Superintendents, Foremen, and Trades personnel.
