The spill had severed all electrical/mechanical connection between casting strands, as well as causing structural damage. INSIDE THE PROJECT Kokosing supplied support in the forms of Electricians/Ironworkers/Pipefitters/Operators/Teamsters/Laborers, material procurement, engineering support and more. We were able to provide temporary solutions as well as permanent repairs. There were 6,747 man-hours involved in the three-week span of the job. The client was able to resume casting in just two weeks time. WHY IT MATTERS Without the ability to cast steel, production comes to a halt. Existing molten steel that can’t be cast has to be discarded, costing millions. Production upstream has to stop. Production downstream runs out of material to process.
