Industrial Maintenance COAL TO NATURAL GAS BOILERS

The main equipment setting on the project consisted of a steam accumulator and two 75,000 lbs/hr gas-fired steam boilers.

The project also required modifications to the existing building structures, erection of more than 57 tons of structural steel, exhaust duct, over 500 pipe supports and 5,380 linear feet of process piping. All of the large bore and most small-bore piping was fabricated offsite at the Monroe facility including 1,900 welds and over 7,000 diameter inches.

The successful switch from conventional coal-fired boilers to gas-fired boilers is one of many environmental sustainability projects our client has committed to in order to reduce their carbon footprint. The new gas-fired boilers reduce energy use and more efficiently power the manufacturing facility.
