Water Resources Cleveland Southerly Renewable Energy Facility

The project incorporated four 2-million-gallon storage tanks (requiring over 100 separate concrete pours), a centralized control and pumping building, truck loading station, and odor control facilities. The new control building houses a 15.5 KV electrical substation and facility for instrumentation and controls. Eight of the largest progressing cavity pumps on the market were installed to pump biosolids to a new truck loading facility. Four biofilters were also installed to remove foul air from the facility using organic materials. This project won the 2016 Build Ohio Award for the Industrial Heavy category.

The City of Columbus needed a fast, state-of-the-art solution for biosolids disposal, and developed plans to provide the City an option to store and dispose of processed biosolids as fertilizer through land application. Kokosing completed this 14 month project on time with zero safety recordable incidents. It was the fastest project of its size/scope ever implemented by the City of Columbus.
