• Source ground water takes on the characteristics of the environment including naturally occurring metals, phosphorus, manganese, and calcium.
• Surface water sources are exposed to elements of nature, as well as the people and animals that depend upon them, which include unwanted nutrients, pesticides, and hydrocarbons.
• Emerging contaminants, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), or “forever chemicals”, are of even greater concern in our water. Advanced treatment facilities remove these “forever chemicals” via membrane technology with reverse osmosis (RO), amongst other treatment technologies.
